Currently we are partnering with many local mission organizations in Duluth. Hillside helps to meet seasonal needs with our mission partners through hands on work, collections of donations, and special offerings. In the last year we have supported Piedmont Elementary, CHUM, Union Gospel Mission, Damiano Center, Hope Center, and Heat Share through the Salvation Army.
Youth Mission to the Cities - Last July we were able to take our youth to the Cities on a four day trip of service and learning. On our trip we worked with Hamline UMC, Hamline University, and Interfaith Action of Greater St. Paul, to engage in hands-on service work and learning about the effects of past injustices in the Cities. This was a great opportunity to learn together and grow in our faith. Thank you to everyone who was able to help sponsor a student you can make a contribution toward the $100 cost for each participant. We will be partnering with these partners again next summer!
Loaves & Fishes - The first Tuesday of each month Hillside prepares a meal for the 24 residents of the Dorothy Day House that is supported by the Loaves & Fishes organization. The Dorothy Day House is one of two homes that, "incorporate community organization and empowerment".
